Niroshan Dickwella’s Three-Year Ban Reduced to Three Months

Sri Lankan cricketer Niroshan Dickwella’s suspension for an alleged anti-doping violation has been significantly reduced from three years to three months following a successful appeal.

The 31-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman tested positive for cocaine during a Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency (SLADA) test conducted on July 14, shortly after the Lanka Premier League (LPL) T20 tournament.

The tournament, held from July 1 to July 21, concluded with Dickwella’s team losing to the Jaffna Kings in the final.In response to the positive test, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and his domestic club, Nondescripts Cricket Club (NCC), imposed an immediate suspension, barring him from all cricketing activities.
