Sri Lankan President Embarks on State Visit to China

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake of Sri Lanka has departed for the People’s Republic of China on a four-day state visit, scheduled from January 14 to January 17, 2025. The visit is being undertaken at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

During his stay, President Dissanayake is set to hold high-level discussions with President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and other senior Chinese officials. These talks aim to strengthen bilateral ties and explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation across various sectors.

The Sri Lankan delegation includes prominent officials such as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism Vijitha Herath; Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation Bimal Rathnayake; and Director General of Government Information H.S.K.J. Bandara.

The visit underscores the growing collaboration between Sri Lanka and China in areas of mutual interest.
