According to a statement from the State Department, Rubio reaffirmed the United States’ unwavering support for Israel, a key priority of President Donald Trump’s administration.
During the call, Rubio congratulated Netanyahu on Israel’s recent successes against Hamas and Hezbollah and pledged to prioritize efforts to secure the release of hostages still held in Gaza. He also expressed a strong commitment to addressing threats from Iran and exploring pathways toward regional peace.
In related developments, Rubio emphasized the need to uphold the Gaza ceasefire in discussions with UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He also welcomed Indonesia’s willingness to engage in Middle East peace efforts during a conversation with the country’s foreign minister.
Meanwhile, President Trump held a call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, marking his first interaction with a foreign leader since his return to the White House.
