The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has extended landslide warnings for several regions.
According to Senior Geologist Vasantha Senadheera, the warnings are in effect from 4:00 PM today (11th) until 4:00 PM tomorrow (12th).
The warnings have been issued under Levels 1 and 2, applying to the following areas within the specified districts.
Landslide Warning Level 2 – Stay Alert:
- Colombo District: Seethawaka, Padukka
- Kalutara District: Wallalawita, Horana, Ingiriya, Matugama, Dodangoda, Bulathsinhala, Palindanuwara, Agalawatta
- Kegalle District: Ruwanwella, Yatiyantota, Dehiowita, Warakapola, Bulathkohupitiya, Kegalle, Mawanella, Aranayake
- Ratnapura District: Eheliyagoda, Kiriella, Ayagama, Elapatha, Kalawana, Ratnapura, Kuruwita
Landslide Warning Level 1 – Be Cautious:
- Badulla District: Ella, Hali Ela, Passara
- Galle District: Yakkalamulla, Niyagama
- Kalutara District: Beruwala
- Kegalle District: Galigamuwa
- Kurunegala District: Narammala, Polgahawela, Alawwa
- Nuwara Eliya District: Ambagamuwa
- Ratnapura District: Kahawatta, Opanayake, Pelmadulla, Nivithigala
