President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has instructed the Ministry of Finance to begin providing a monthly interim allowance of Rs. 3,000 to all pensioners starting next week. The President’s Media Division reported that the President personally looked into the delay in implementing the allowance. The decision was made during a discussion at the President’s Office, attended by President Dissanayake and senior officials from the Ministry of Finance.
