Sri Lanka is set to welcome its first-ever seven-star hotel, The Aviyana Hotel, scheduled to open next year. Spanning an impressive 27 acres, the luxury project will feature nearly 60 fully-equipped villas and an array of world-class amenities. The hotel’s concept draws inspiration from the renowned hospitality of Sri Lankans, the country’s rich culinary traditions, and its heritage of meditation practices.

Located at the entrance of Thaldeniya, Udispattuvi in Kandy, the Aviyana Hotel complex is already 70% complete. The serene location, coupled with state-of-the-art facilities, promises a unique experience for international travelers. Esteemed chefs, designers, and organizers have partnered with the project, ensuring that visitors will receive services at par with global luxury standards.
Dr. Thisara Hewawasam, Chairman and CEO of Aviyana Hotels Group, expressed his vision for the project, which began as a small initiative with just one employee. Today, it has grown into a national asset, aimed at uplifting Sri Lanka’s tourism industry. Dr. Hewawasam estimates that the Aviyana Hotel could generate $500 million annually for the Sri Lankan economy starting next year.
With its grand opening on the horizon, The Aviyana Hotel is poised to place Sri Lanka firmly on the map as a destination for unparalleled luxury and cultural richness.
